PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Cipher-Ace Series (TM) is programs for making and breaking the
worlds Classical ciphers. The commercial version contains over 40
ciphers, 5 ciphers per package at $35.00 per package.
The Cipher-Ace Series, shareware version, contains two classical
ciphers; The Aristocrat and the Quagmire type II.
The Aristocrat is a simple substitution type with word divisions
The Quagmire II is a polyalphabetic type.
Both type ciphers are accompanied by 2 sample cryptograms to be
solved by the buyer.
Several HELPME files are included callable by menu prompts in the
program, including a file of names/addresses for further reading.
Registration by the buyer gets six months of Mail or E-mail support
plus a 240 page copy of 'CRYPTANALYSIS' by Helen Fouche' Gaines,
which is THE CLASSICAL how-to book on cryptanalysis.
Registration is USD $20.00 plus shipping/handling of $4.00 in
N. America and $8.00 overseas.
RESTRICTIONS:
1. Distributors of these SHAREWARE programs may charge the ultimate
customer no more than USD $10.00. (Total of all resellers!)
2. These programs MUST be identified as SHAREWARE, and the shareware
concept explained in any attached advertising material.
3. You will cease and desist immediately from selling or
distributing this product upon written notification to you.
4. No file may be altered or modified including this one, except for
the files LICENSE.TXT and CAVEND.TXT. All files must be bundled
and sold as a package. Vendor may at his option include his own
MENU page, with his company advertising.
5. IN EVERY INSTANCE, the TM insignia must be displayed when
displaying the PHRASE 'CIPHER-ACE', or the PHRASE 'CIFA'.
6. On your distribution disk labels and advertising, the programs
MUST be identified as 'The Cipher-Ace Series' and vendors and BBS's
WILL use the filename 'CIFAnn.xxx' (TM) where xxx is YOUR file
extension, (ZIP-ARC-etc). 'nn' is the current version number.
You may distribute on any standard IBM media you desire.
7. You will refer your customer to AUTHOR for any complaints or
comments. Mail & E-Mail support available for six months from
purchase.
Vendors and BBS's will distribute Cipher-Ace shareware programs on an
individual diskette free of any other authors programs. No exceptions,
unless all the below distribution files are ZIP'ed or ARC'ed as one bundle.
Vendor members of the Association of Shareware Professionals will abide by
association rules.
Vendors and BBS's wishing to distribute Cipher-Ace shareware programs will
so notify Charles Stewart, in writing on their letterhead, for
authorization and for release of updated material. The Cipher-Ace Series,
per-se, is NOT SHAREWARE, only the one specific shareware disk. In order
to stay current on our mailing list for updates, you must send us a copy of
your flyer/brochure listing The Cipher-Ace Series shareware program, and
describing the shareware concept, at least once per year!
Full-line distributorships are available to companies and entrepeneurs
world-wide, upon negotiated agreement, for the complete commercial package.
Foreign language editions of the text files and/or .COM files can be
negotiated. Candidates will please submit their Bono Fides to Author.
At the vendors option he may ZIP or ARC all the required distribution
files, if the user can unzip, directly without having to use ANY other
programs except those furnished on the Shareware distribution disk. BBS's
MUST ZIP or ARC 'CIFAnn.ext' in order that downloaders are ASSURED of
getting all the required files.
The programs were developed on an XT, and support 80X25 screens, MDA, EGA
Hercules or VGA. Distribution diskettes are 360K 40 track. The source
code is compiled in PC/FORTH-83 as distributed by LMI and is not available
to the public. The programs should work on all IBM compatibles.
The disk file 'CAVEND.TXT', maximum 60 bytes, may be used by the vendor to
contain his name and phone or address. Use any text editor to create it.
This feature will place the VENDORS name and phone number on the title screen
of every .COM program at the time of execution. Alternatively, if you run
one of the .COM programs and there is NO CAVEND.TXT in the directory, you
will be prompted for your name, phone/address and the file will be created.

ADDENDUM
Foreign Language copies of all ASCII text files on the disk, will
eventually become available. Limited to ROMAN alphabet languages only.
